City Breaks

City Breaks

City breaks are an ideal way to get the flavour of another country concentrated into a few exciting days.

So if you fancy immersing yourself in a fascinating foreign culture, we have plenty of ideas for cities that will inspire you.

Whether your desire is to experience the historical wonder of ancient Rome, tempt your taste buds with tapas in Barcelona or shop till you drop in New York, we can find somewhere to feed your passion for travel.

Whilst the classic European cities like Paris, Venice and Amsterdam never lose their appeal, have you thought of trying lesser known destinations like Lisbon or Dubrovnik? Further a field, how about Marrakech? Or the ultimate East meets West exoticism of Istanbul!

Closer to home, we can organise UK theatre breaks, combining train travel, a hotel and tickets to top London shows and attractions. Near or far, we can organise your perfect city break.

New York

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book.

It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Venice

Comprised of 118 islands interconnected by bridges, Venice is one of the most romantic and fascinating cities in the world.

Ancient canals interlace basilicas, palaces and atmospheric grand squares filled with light. Views from a water-taxi or gondola that glide the Grand Canal are magnificent and unmissable.

Take a walk and discover the famous Bridge of Sighs and St Mark’s Basilica before whiling away some time over a glass of wine or a cappuccino in St Mark’s Square.

Unlike any other, this world-famous city with its seemingly endless amount of galleries, museums and historical buildings, is a veritable treasure trove of art and culture.

For a truly breathtaking and mesmerising city experience, Venice is a must.

Rome

Rising from the winding banks of the river Tiber Rome magnificently crowns its seven hills.

Formerly the mighty Roman Empire's heart, Rome is now as much a contemporary European city as it is a historical centre. As an artistic and historic world capital, Rome invites visitors to immerse themselves in its stunning sights, exciting treasures, and delicious food and drink.

Named by the ancient Romans as the Eternal City and most certainly not built in a day, with Romanesque, Medieval, Classical and Renaissance buildings spanning centuries,

Rome boast some of Europe's most eye-catching architecture.

Rome is not a museum though it is vibrant and colourful with scenery, culture, people and food that combine to create an unrivalled ambience for a city destination.

Paris

One of the most attractive cities in the world with some of the world's most iconic sights, Paris is also a delightfully compact group of villages.

Equally as exciting as the city's great monuments is the everyday Paris that can be found in pavement cafes and parks. Paris is celebrated for its exquisite architecture, cathedrals, art museums, parks, markets, tree-lined boulevards, pavement cafes, superb shopping and fine cuisine.

As a perennial city, Paris throughout the seasons maintains an ability to equally charm and captivate its visitors.

Within this patchwork collection of diverse villages, quartiers and arrondissements visitors can discover the delight of hidden local shops, cafes, bars and restaurants at almost every turn.

Paris has a splendour and majesty that inspires but also a genuinely memorable casual intimacy.

Istanbul

Istanbul stands proudly at the meeting point between Europe and Asia, combining both continents' cultures, yet managing to present an entirely distinctive whole.

The mixture of cultures can be seen everywhere, even in the landscape, ranging from towering mountains to delightful sunny beaches.

Istanbul proves that it is a city whose attractions are not confined to any particular type of visitor.

Few Capitals around the world can boast the atmosphere of a typically bustling commercial centre combined with expanses of soft sand, so there is little wonder that beaches play a large part in the city's appeal.

Surprisingly easy to reach all year round, there is a tremendous amount to do and see on a break to Istanbul.
